Dr. Chrystal Maher received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in 1999. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Philip’s Graduate Institute in 2002 and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ryokan College in 2005. Her coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis was completed at University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale in 2006. She earned her BCBA in 2007 and became a Licensed Psychologist in 2009.
Dr. Maher went on to specialize in clinical neuropsychology, completing a post-doctoral certificate in Neuropsychology at Fielding Graduate University in 2017, which involved 2 years of post-doctorate studies and supervised training in the area of neuropsychology.
Dr. Maher has over 20 years of experience experience implementing, designing, and supervising ABA programs for children with developmental disabilities. Her training and experience includes using a wide range of ABA methods, including: Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Training (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Planned Activities Training (PAT), and Verbal Behavior. She began her career as a Behavior Interventionist in 2000. She became a Supervisor, designing and implementing ABA programs in 2002. In 2004, she became a Clinical Director of at an agency providing ABA services to children. She was previously on staff as a Psychology Consultant at a California Regional Center and served as a consultant for Glendale Unified School District, training and supervising their direct line behavior intervention staff and teachers. She has previously taught in an approved ABA course sequence at National University and enjoys supervising individuals pursuing certification as Behavior Analysts. In fact, she has supervised individuals remotely in Canada and Utah.
Dr. Maher has been in private practice since 2010. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children ages 18 months to 18 years old.
