Alyssa is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Azusa Pacific University. She received a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in May 2023 and a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology with a minor in Biblical Studies at Biola University in 2021. She worked as an ABA interventionist while applying to graduate school to gain more experience with various aged children and adolescents. She is currently in her third year of clinical experience which includes working with children and adolescents within multiple settings, including school, in-home services, foster services, and private practice. She joins the assessment team at Our Kids Developmental Services as a doctoral student under the supervision of Dr. Maher. Alyssa is skilled in treating trauma, ADHD, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, attachment and adjustment issues, and depression. She previously worked at a Specialized Foster Care site where she worked with clients 18 and under, transitional aged youth, and families. She approaches treatment from a psychodynamic lens with a systems-based perspective.
Alyssa is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and The Gottman Method (Level 1 and Level 2). Additionally, she had training in PCIT, Motivational Interviewing for Substance Abuse, Play Therapy, Child Abuse Assessment and Reporting, and Safety Planning.
