Raisa is a third-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) program at Azusa Pacific
University, training under the supervision of Dr. Chrystal Maher. Her clinical background
includes experience in private practice, school-based programs, preschools, community settings,
and outpatient treatment clinics, where she has supported children, adolescents, and their families
with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and emotional challenges.
In addition to my doctoral training, Raisa is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with
experience providing ABA therapy and early intervention services for children with autism and
other developmental disorders.
Currently, she is completing additional clinical training at the UCLA Semel Institute for
Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where she co-leads social skills groups for children and parent
training groups for parents of children and teens through the Children’s Friendship and Parenting
Program. These experiences have further strengthened her ability to integrate evidence-based
interventions with family-centered care.
She earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2023, a Master’s
degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in 2025, and a Bachelor of Arts
(B.A.) in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2017. She
is fluent in Armenian and proficient in Russian, which enhances her ability to serve diverse
communities. Her clinical interests include early intervention, child and family work, social skills
development, and culturally responsive parent training.
